Chased by a cute and very curious fennec on Altiplano, Bolivia.
I recently had the opportunity to embark on an adventurous road trip to Bolivia, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. My journey took me through some of the most stunning landscapes and exotic wildlife in the world.
First on my itinerary was the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world. As I walked across the expansive white surface, I was mesmerized by the reflection of the sky in the salt, creating a magical illusion of a never-ending sky. I learned that the salt flat was once a prehistoric lake and is now a major source of salt for the country.
Next, I ventured into the heart of the Andes Mountains and visited the Sajama National Park and the highest mountain of Bolivia, Sajama. Standing at over 21,000 feet tall, I was awe-struck by the breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks and the vast expanse of the Altiplano. I was amazed to learn that Sajama was considered a sacred mountain by the local indigenous communities and was believed to hold spiritual powers.
As I continued my journey, I came across several breathtakingly beautiful lagunas, including Laguna Colorada, Laguna Verde, and Laguna Blanca. These bright blue-green lakes were surrounded by towering volcanoes and were home to a variety of exotic birds, including flamingos. I was amazed to learn that the vibrant colors of the lakes were caused by the high concentration of minerals and algae in the water.
I also had the opportunity to encounter several fascinating animals along the way, including alpacas, lamas, and viscachas. These gentle creatures roamed the grassy plains of the Altiplano and were a joy to watch. I learned that alpacas and lamas were domesticated animals that were highly valued by the local communities for their wool and meat.
Finally, I visited the geysirs and wet lands of Bolivia, where I saw steam rising from the ground and hot springs surrounded by lush vegetation. It was a truly unique experience, and I felt grateful to have had the chance to witness such natural wonders.
In conclusion, my road trip to Bolivia was filled with exciting experiences and unforgettable memories. From the stunning beauty of the salt flats to the majestic peaks of the Andes and the diverse wildlife I encountered along the way, Bolivia truly has something for everyone.

Round trip along the Isle of Skye and West Coast and Highlands
As an avid traveler and adventurer, I recently had the opportunity to embark on an incredible journey to the frozen tundra of Spitsbergen in the Arctic. Over the course of two weeks, I encountered a range of unforgettable experiences that tested my limits and challenged me in ways I never thought possible.
The first stop on my trip was a six day dog sled tour to the Isfjord Radio Station. It was a challenging journey through the icy wilderness, with overnight stays in a tent at temperatures reaching a bone-chilling -26°C. Despite the harsh conditions, I was determined to press on, and I was rewarded with the most magnificent Northern Lights that I have ever seen. The aurora borealis danced in the sky, painting a brilliant canvas of greens and purples that left me in awe.
Along the way, I had the privilege of working with the sled dogs, a pack of huskies and malamutes, who were truly amazing. Their strength, endurance, and unwavering spirit inspired me, and I was humbled by their ability to thrive in such harsh conditions. I learned that these breeds were specifically bred for their sledding abilities and have been used for centuries by Arctic communities for transportation and work.
Another unforgettable experience was a Skidoo tour to the glaciers along the East coast of Spitsbergen. I was amazed by the sheer size and beauty of the glaciers, and I felt a sense of awe as I gazed upon their icy cliffs towering above me. The tour took us to the glacier front, where I had the opportunity to go for a hike and get up close and personal with these magnificent formations of ice.
As I hiked along the glacier front, I encountered a variety of Arctic wildlife, including the elusive ptarmigans and reindeers. These animals have adapted to the harsh conditions of the Arctic and were a joy to observe in their natural habitat. I was also able to visit Svalbard, where I learned about the rich history and culture of the region and its people.
In conclusion, my trip to Spitsbergen was a true adventure and a test of my endurance and spirit. From the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Lights to the sheer majesty of the glaciers and the resilience of the Arctic wildlife, I was truly amazed by the wonders of this unique and rugged landscape.
Alaska was a very special experience. Wild, pristine and breathtakingly tall - these are the attributes that come to mind when I think of my trip to Alaska.

Our trusty Ford campervan was our home on wheels as we explored the incredible landscapes of Whitehorse, Dawson City, Tok, Delta Junction, Paxson, Mount McKinley, Anchorage, Kanai, Tern Lake, Homer, Hope, Valdez, Kluane Lake, Haines, Skagway, and beyond.
Our main focus was on capturing the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness through photography, and we were not disappointed. From the stunning valleys and riverbeds to the towering mountains and lush forests, Alaska truly exceeded our expectations. The highlight of our photography journey was the legendary Denali Highway, which provided us with breathtaking views of the Alaskan wilderness.
One of the most exciting experiences of our trip was our visit to Katmai National Park and Hallo Bay, where we took a small plane to witness the majesty of the grizzly bears in their natural habitat. Hiking through the park and spotting these magnificent creatures was a truly unforgettable experience.
Another highlight was our hike on the Matanuska Glacier, where we marveled at the sheer size and beauty of this stunning frozen formation. We also took a helicopter flight near Valdez, which gave us the chance to fly over the Columbia Glacier and land on the Shoup Glacier. The views from above were simply breathtaking, and the landing on the glacier was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our canoeing trip on the Columbia Glacier Bay near Valdez was another unforgettable experience. Paddling through the icy waters and surrounded by towering glaciers was truly awe-inspiring.
